I’ve added a new website to the portfolio! Jenlis needed a full e-commerce site for their new product, HOPR. I took their design (a supplied Photoshop file), made it a WordPress friendly theme, and used WP-Ecommerce to take care of the catalog, shopping cart, and payments using both Authorize.Net and Paypal. Visit the site.

Last week, Manifest Development launched a new website- The Caitlin M. Hammaren Foundation. The foundation had a pre-existing website that they wanted to convert to a content management system (CMS) to make it easier for them to update themselves. Manifest Development converted the site to WordPress and organized the site to make it easier for visitors to find information.

Yesterday, I launched my most recent project, LadderWrap. LadderWrap came to me with the need for a simple website that showcased the many uses of their product, provided the ability to contact them, and of course, allowed people to purchase the product.

The latest edition to my portfolio (and last one of 2009!) is Holy Shepherd Church. I was approached by designer Lena Mulenburg to convert her Photoshop design into a CMS friendly website. She provided me with a mind map and a single PSD and I set out to make it a fully functional WordPress driven website.

These are the three sides of the project triangle- Good, Fast, and Cheap- and these three sides are things that every client wants. But, there are trade-offs to each one, and many people outside the development world don’t see that. The catch is you can only pick two.

I’m happy to officially announce Manifest Development’s Referral Program. For a limited time, if you refer someone to Manifest Development, you will get a referral fee of 10% of the project price. The better the project, the higher your fee.
This could be as simple as you telling someone about my Services or actually convincing them to get a website through me. Just tell them to let me know you sent them! And to help you out, throughout the week I’ll be posting resources on what exactly I do, and the importance of a website for you to pass along.
If you have any questions, I’m more than happy to assist! And I want to Thank You in advance for your help. I built Manifest Development on referrals and word of mouth and I’d like to give back a little bit for your continued effort and support.

Recently I had the good fortune of working with Brian Kaufmann at Tipping Media, who contracted me to do the programming end of the website for a program called 50 Ways 5o Days. My job was to convert Tipping Media’s design to a WordPress theme, write two custom plugins, and integrate Facebook Connect. Overall, this was a really fun project to work on- I got to do some pretty cool stuff.

I hadn’t realized it, but next month will be 2 and a half years since my last blog redesign, which is considerably longer than my previous time between designs; I was young and impressionable and didn’t know what I wanted. But now something is different. My needs in 2007 were different than my needs now. Then, this was just a place for blog entries (and the occasional trying out a new web dev trick). Now information sharing has increased 10 fold. I have shared thoughts and links on Facebook, Google Reader, Twitter, and here. The new design needs to reflect that, especially since my day-to-day blogging has decreased with the advent of Twitter. I present to you: Info Overload.
