Now on Mobile!

June 29, 2011 | filed under: Announcements, News

Manifest Development now has a mobile friendly site! Head on over to www.manifestdevelopment.com on your cell phone or mobile device and you’ll see a bite-size version of the site that’s optimized not only for mobile sites, but for the touch screen User Experience.

The focus was on showcasing the services and my portfolio page, while giving the viewer an easy way to call or contact; that’s why you’ll find the phone number on the bottom of every page. The best part is that since this is a mobile website, not an app, you can access it from any smartphone, whether it be an Android, iPhone, Blackberry, or Windows Device!

At Manifest Development, I specialize in WordPress site creation. I can take care of every step in the design process, from concept drawings to content input. I will work with you over the course of a few weeks (or even months) to give you the perfect site for your business.

However, sometimes the whole process isn’t necessary. If you need a website but have time or budget constraints, I’ve got the solution you need: The WordPress QuickSite. A WordPress QuickSite will give you a fully functional WordPress driven website and blog for an affordable $549.00.

Manifest Development Redesign 2011: The Portfolio

January 28, 2011 | filed under: Case Studies, News, Site Launch

For the second part of this series, I want to talk about putting my new portfolio together. The portfolio is the most important area for a web developer because it gives the user insight into the type of work he or she does, so I wanted to do it right. It’s now in two places, and is managed a completely different way on the backend.  Let’s take a look.

January 24, 2011 | filed under: Case Studies, News, Site Launch

Last week I launched a redesign of this site. I started developing it in late November, and wanted to revamp the site completely from design to content. I got some feedback from my students during one class when we were talking about the importance of a small business’ website, and I wanted to integrate that, as well as some of the new things I learned over the last two years. I’m planning on making this a multipart series, and in today’s installment, I want to talk about the most important part of a website: The Homepage.

Thoughts on Social Media

November 30, 2010 | filed under: News, services

I get asked a lot about Facebook, Twitter, and having a blog. People want to know if one or all of these things are good to have and why. On the ever-changing landscape that is the Internet, social media is currently king. With social media, users don’t need to visit multiple sites to check up on everything they “like,” as stated on Facebook, they are always looking for the latest and greatest news, and Twitter has resurrected the proverbial messenger bird, making it easier than ever for news and information to come to us. So should you get a blog, Facebook, and Twitter? The answer is Yes.

I’ve added a new website to the portfolio! Jenlis needed a full e-commerce site for their new product, HOPR. I took their design (a supplied Photoshop file), made it a WordPress friendly theme, and used WP-Ecommerce to take care of the catalog, shopping cart, and payments using both Authorize.Net and Paypal.
