About Joe Casabona
I’ve been an independent contractor since 2002 and have worked on numerous websites and software systems. I have BS in Media and Information Technology with a minor in Computer Science and a MS in Software Engineering, both of which I received from the University of Scranton. Who Do I Work For?
As an independent contractor, I get hired by organizations to complete a specific project, and am not actually employed by the organization. In short, I work for myself. So the real question is: What do I work on?
Usually I go for small to medium sized projects from individuals or small businesses and organizations. This includes projects such as a start-up informational site for a mom and pop store, a modestly sized Facebook or Twitter application for someone who wants to make their idea a reality, or basic e-commerce site for a shop looking to sell their goods online.
Why Hire Me?
There are a lot of merits to hiring an independent contractor. I think the first and formost reason is that I will work with you. I am not a company with a chain of command- that means we talk, and I get it done. I can also take care of everything from design, to coding, to launch. That cuts down on time and cost!
That being said, there are some things I am better suited for. Hire me if:
- You’re looking for clean and simple website design
- You need a programmer for a web application
- You need WordPress work done
On the flip side, I might not be your best bet if:
- You need graphic designer. Logo design and graphic intense designs are not my forte
- You need someone on call 24/7. Unfortunately, I am only one person and usually have a few clients to tend to at a time
- You need something that will take a team to build
If I’m not the right guy for the job, I can always refer you to one of my affiliates based on the project.
